From PCCN Ottawa comes this invitation:
On March 3, 2021 at 7:00 PM Luke Lewandowski will talk to PCCNO by ZOOM on Precision Medicine.
Precision medicine is the development of personalized treatments for each patient. Precision medicine has treated and cured terminal cancer cases. Hear about initiatives at Canada’s health agencies using precision medicine techniques to treat difficult diseases and patients whose disease has advanced to a terminal stage. Patients with terminal cancers – prostate, colon, breast, pancreatic – have been treated successfully using these methods.
Gene editing technologies have matured from a hit-and-miss approach to today’s precision approach. CRISPR gene editing technology is precise. CRISPR can remove, alter or replace one or more genes in the human genome, to treat or cure diseases caused by genetic disorders, such as sickle cell anemia and Huntington’s.
This presentation discusses COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, how they were discovered, how they are made, and how they work. The benefits of mRNA vaccines are compared to those of conventional vaccines.
Luke has an Honours BMath degree from the University of Waterloo. He worked in the Information Technology sector and co-founded several companies; building the first shared ATM network in Canada, offering IBM Mainframe outsourcing, developing and selling software to Fortune 500 companies.
Luke has given over a hundred presentations at conferences, to potential clients, in workshops and seminars, and on cruise ships. He enjoys speaking and continues to do so for groups, clubs, charities, and other organizations.
