PCSWE October 2026

Prostate Cancer Support Windsor/Essex (PCSWE)

October 2026 Communique

Summer is nearing an end and we look forward to a nice long warm Fall Season. Our Fall program is relatively quiet from an outreach perspective, but we have a few good presentations lined up followed by a Christmas get-together lined up for Tuesday 15 December at Legion 594.

Our September presentation by Eric Leckie, PhD was very well received. In fact, another Ontario support group has asked Eric to present at one of their winter meetings.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 13th, 2026

Joining us for our October 13th meeting, will be Jeff Geml from Windsor Regional Hospital.

Jeff is the Director of Service Planning for Redevelopment at Windsor Regional Hospital. With nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, research, and hospital operations, Jeff has held progressive leadership roles spanning surgery, medicine, emergency services and most recently service planning. Jeff holds an MBA from Carleton University, a Master of Public Health from Des Moines University, and is passionate about engaging staff and community members to help plan the services that the new hospital requires, to meet the needs of the local community and region.

Jeff will be bringing us up to date on progress and planning for our new Fancsy Family Hospital, now under construction on Cabana Road East, just east of Windsor Airport. Phase I includes the construction of a 3-storey Education and Administration Centre, a 700-vehicle parking garage, and essential site infrastructure.

This will be an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about this significant investment in local healthcare, that will modernize infrastructure and improve accessibility for patients in our region.

As always, the meeting starts at 7pm at the Hospice (6038 Empress St.).  You can also join remotely via ZOOM.
