Bring on the bugs; let the real fun begin!

WRH Foundation Golf Tournament- May was a very busy month for us with exciting events including the Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) Foundation Golf Tournament on Wednesday 20 May.  We sincerely thank the following folks who volunteered their time to help including:  Josephine McCoy, Midori Kalle, Wayne Zimney, Keith Dupuis, Randy & Jackie Beaudoin, Chuck Loeper, Ed Kolar, Brian Robinson, and Dennis Evon.

Golfers and community supporters have raised $73,000 for men’s health care in Windsor-Essex. The annual tournament at Essex Golf and Country Club will direct all proceeds to the Dr. Richard Boyd Men’s Health Program at Windsor Regional Hospital. The money will help fund new prostate cancer screening equipment, minimally invasive surgical tools, and improvements aimed at keeping care local. Organizers say the event highlights strong community support for expanding access to specialized treatment close to home. The Dr. Boyd Men’s Health Program was founded several years ago in honor of Dr. Boyd, the former chief of surgery and head of urology at Windsor Regional, who passed away in 2008. (Source: AM800 CKLW News)

Motorcycle Ride for Dad (Sunday 31 May) – for those wishing to volunteer for this year’s event on Sunday 31 May, please arrive between 0700 and 0800 to help with registration and being “human pilons” for the launch.  We also need some volunteers to help out directing traffic at the “finish line” at the Bourbon Tap & Grill in Belle River.

Tuesday 16 June Spaghetti Get-Together – Please note the we will NOT be meeting on Tuesday 9 June, but rather we will be meeting on Tuesday 16 June at Legion 594 (Howard Ave) for their bi-weekly all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner.  Please arrive by 5pm, buy a $10 dollar ticket, grab your food, and look for our tables.  The Legion will set aside an area for our group.
Summer – Remember, we do not meet in July and August.  After our 16 June spaghetti dinner, we will not meet until Tuesday 8 September.  However, your Steering Committee remains as always “Ready-Aye-Ready” to help any time.

Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada Father’s Day Walk/Run (June 21st, 2026) – This annual PCFC fundraising campaign is very important to us since the National Group provides immeasurable support to us. Simply put, we could not operate without their help and support. In addition, we get up to 50% equivalent return on money our members raise or donate. Please join our PCS Windsor/Essex Team and/or donate to show your support at this link:
