January 2026 Communique
We had an excellent Christmas get-together in December at Legion 594 (Howard Ave) and we hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration.
Please remember that we do NOT meet in January, so our next usual Hospice/ZOOM meeting will be on Tuesday 10 February 2026. However, there are other Prostate Cancer Support Group meetings that you can attend remotely (ZOOM). There are more details below.
WEDNESDAY 04 FEBRUARY 2026
WINDSOR POLICE vs FIREFIGHERS ‘BATTLE OF THE BADGES’ CHARITY HOCKEY GAME
Our group has been invited to participate in the upcoming Police vs Fire charity hockey game called ‘Battle of the Badges’ (www.playforacure.ca/badges) on World Cancer Day, Wednesday 4 February 2026 at the WFCU Centre. We will be setting up and manning our awareness booth for the event. We need up to four volunteers to tend to our booth between periods. Please let us know by January 19th, if you are willing to help out.
The main objective of this event is to bring the community together to support what we do, as a community, to support cancer patients. The Windsor Police and Windsor Fire will be putting together their best rosters to put on a competitive game that will entertain the crowd.
As cancer survivors on World Cancer Day, what better way than this for all of us to show how thankful we are, by spreading the word about this new event and purchasing a $20 ticket to attend. Use the Play For A Cure link above for tickets.
TUESDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2026 PCSWE MEETING
We are currently working on finding a speaker for our February meeting. As a back-up we will use a taped presentation from another group off of the National Group video library. We will forward details to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, please feel free to remotely attend (ZOOM) other support group meetings. Details follow below.
